All-inclusive holidays 'good for families'

14 May 2008

All-inclusive holidays
Families may be more likely to opt for an all-inclusive holiday because there are added things thrown in, it has been claimed.

Research by Halifax Travel Insurance recently found that around 2.5 million Brits take a package holiday every year but often only spend around seven hours away from their hotel.

Perhaps there is a financial motive behind this, as Frances Tuke, spokesperson for the Association of British Travel Agents, explained that drinks, ice-creams, food and sometimes water sports are often thrown into the deal.

She added that it can be possible for some families to book an all-inclusive holiday and then not spend any extra money when they are there.

"You usually have to have a little bit [of spending money], but that is generally the advantage of an all-inclusive holiday and does appeal to families," she added.

Parents should remember to keep their children well protected from the sun, using SPF30 for those over six months old and keeping younger babies in the shade at all times.
