Hush Puppies - Only we fit both feet

Fact! 1 in 3 children require a different fitting between their left and right feet

Only Hush Puppies have a unique set of precisely calibrated foot beds for each shoe, which tailor the fit individually to each foot if required.

All our shoes come in whole sizes, and selected styles in half sizes, with E, F and G fittings.

All our shoes have up to 3 months growth room built into them, therefore we recommend that your child’s feet should be re-measured every 3 months.

We recommend and supply an individual fitting service provided by professional trained fitters using our unique foot beds.

Your child is a special individual and with that in mind, our unique fitting system keeps their individuality throughout their growing years. Your child was born with perfect feet and we want them to stay that way.

  • Fact 1: A child’s foot evolves from toddler (containing 45 pieces of developing bone) to adult (in which most of the bone have fused together) by the age of 18. During this growth period, the soft bones must be carefully supported and allowed sufficient room to grow.
  • Fact 2: One in three children require different fittings for each foot. With our unique foot bed system we are able to fit each foot individually for width and depth.
  • Fact 3: The average growth rate for children aged 1-4 is 2½ sizes per year. Between 5-10 years average growth rate 1 size per year.
  • Fact 4: An individual child’s foot may grow up to 4 sizes in a year particularly during infancy.

Right from the start your child’s feet need the very best quality shoes, which are properly fitted. With this in mind Hush Puppies have developed a range of shoes for children which incorporates the unique Fit Left Fit Right System.

Healthy Feet = Happy Feet

Looking after your children’s feet is as important as well fitted shoes. Here are a few easy steps to keep your children’s feet in tip top condition

  • 1. Keep them clean and dry - feet should be washed and dried thoroughly every day, especially between the toes.
  • 2. Barefoot - (when it’s safe to go barefoot) let their feet breathe and help their walking skills develop as they feel the ground beneath them.
  • 3. Toenails - trim nails regularly keeping them short and trimming them straight. Keeping them short helps prevent in-growing toe nails.
  • 4. Socks - well fitting socks made from natural fibres are best for children’s feet. Socks that are too tight pull feet into an unnatural shape, and can cause permanent damage. Socks that are too loose can cause blisters if they bunch up.
  • 5. Measure their feet - we recommend regular fit checks on average every three months.

Christmas is a special time of year, and we'll spend the same as always
We'll probably spend as we usually do and worry about it in the new year
We're not worried about spending, as we have saved in advance / have been spreading the cost
We've got to be more careful this year, but the kid(s) won’t lose out
We'll be cutting back this year
