Beckham boys dine on Turkey Twizzlers
21 May 2008Victoria Beckham has revealed that her sons' school serves the rather unhealthy choice of Turkey Twizzlers for dinners.
In an interview with OK magazine, the ex-Spice Girl claimed that she and David go along to Brooklyn and Romeo's school to help out with trips and mealtimes.
"David and I are always in the school," she said. "We go and serve up hot lunches. It's the same food we used to get at school - Turkey Twizzlers."
The snack was recently made famous by Jamie Oliver in his television campaign for healthier school dinners.
He revealed that the twizzlers are 34 per cent turkey and that the other percentage is made up of fat, water, sweeteners, oil, colourings and flavourings.
Oliver's campaign led to two of the three largest school catering companies dropping the food from their menus.
However, The Children of the 90s study conducted by the University of Bristol has also revealed that in 2000, kids who brought packed lunches to school were even worse off nutritionally than those who ate school meals such as Turkey Twizzlers.
