'Bright and playful' summer clothing for kids

20 May 2008

There is a new range of bright and playful summer clothes for children, available from Polarn O Pyret (PO.P).

Aimed at keeping youngsters cool in hot weather, the Swedish firm's new collection includes cotton for newborns and sunwear for protection against UV rays.

Kids can choose from ladybird and fairytale prints as well as various other embroideries, the firm stated, adding that none of the clothes are gender-stereotyped.

The firm's marketing director Jo Nilsson claimed that all the clothing can withstand vigorous outdoor treatment and also washes well, keeping the strong colours and shapes.

"We are very proud of our summer collection, which has traditional styles alongside really bright, playful colours and patterns," she said.

Parents interested in buying from the PO.P range can look in House of Fraser stores or at the brand's independent outlets in Windsor, Derby, Cambridge or London.

For parents who want the comfort of shopping online for their children, Nigella Lawson and Cherie Blair apparently prefer internet store Little Badger.

It’s a great idea and would get my vote!
It's a good idea, but not a priority
Sharing a postnatal ward is safer if anything were to happen to you or your baby
Money should be spent on more midwives instead
It's unrealistic and would be a waste of money
