Cate's third time lucky with baby boy

Australian actress and celebrity working mum Cate Blanchett has given birth to a third son, reports reveal.

The 38-year-old multi award-winning star and husband playwright Andrew Upton welcomed their third child yesterday in Sydney, where the couple share a family home with sons Dashiell, six, and three-year-old Roman.

Speaking on behalf of the proud parents, a spokesperson told AFP: "Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton have a baby boy, Ignatius Martin Upton. All are well and very happy."

After delivering a 3.6kg healthy baby boy, the actress is reportedly set to get straight back into work by honouring her commitment to participate in an arts summit co-chaired by the Australian government.

Commenting on her experiences of motherhood last year, Cate told the Times: "And it's a cliche, but it's true, the reserves of feeling that one finds for them is limitless. You think, ‘I have one, how could I find any more love for a second one?' and you do.”
