Charlotte turns to old wives' remedies to hurry labour

02 Jan 2009

Charlotte turns to old wives
Welsh singer and TV personality Charlotte Church is reportedly eating curry, pineapples and raspberry tea in a bid to induce labour, according to new reports.

The 22-year-old mum-of-one was due to give birth to her second baby with long-term partner Gavin Henson at home on Tuesday, but has yet to start having contractions.

"Charlotte's not had any twinges yet so she's trying all the old wives' remedies," an insider told the Mirror.

"She's hoping the curry, pineapples and raspberry tea will work and has put the midwife's number in her mobile so she can act fast when things happen."

The singing sensation welcomed the couple's first child, daughter Ruby, in September 2007, weighing in at six pounds and 12 ounces.

For both her pregnancies, Charlotte opted to deliver at home in Cardiff rather than give birth at hospital. The young mum installed a birthing pool in their living room for baby Ruby's home birth.
