Dads contribute more ways than one

Dads contribute more ways than one
Dads spend 104 hours a year driving their children to various extra-curricular activity lessons, it has been claimed.

According to Asda, if fathers were paid an annual salary for all the unpaid jobs they do in the house, they would earn about £16,484 a year.

The research found that dads spend 52 hours a year helping with homework and 104 hours teaching older kids how to drive.

DIY, lawn mowing, gardening and washing the car were all included in the fatherly task list.

Gideon Ingham, head of insurance at the firm, commented: "Dads' financial contribution to the household via his salary is just the tip of the iceberg."

He added that it is surprising how many families overlook life insurance, despite its cheap cost.

"Life insurance should be accounted for as part of the family budget in the same way that birthdays and holidays are as it really is best to be prepared for every eventuality," he said.

The research comes ahead of Father's Day on Sunday June 15th.
