Disney hands out free birthday tickets
Mothers can make the best of a new promotional offer from Disney offering visitors into their theme parks for free on birthdays.

The company announced the offer in a New York press conference in Manhattan, according to the Candian Press.

Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said that: "Every guest gets in free to one of our parks on their birthday in 2009."

As part of Disney's new "What will you celebrate?" promotion the world famous entertainment company will also run special promotions for events such as weddings and graduations.

As part of the initiative Disney will travel through 30 cities alongside Disney themed characters, starting on September 25th at Minneapolis and ending in February at Phoenix.

A series of averts will also run featuring brides in limousines and children blowing out candles, the Candian Press reports.

To claim the free ticket visitors need to turn up to one of Disney's parks on their birthday with ID and some proof of the day they were born.

Professor of consumer behaviour at Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration Mike Lynn said the initiative could well be a success.

He told the Canadian Press: "The only thing they lose is the revenue from those people whose birthdays it is who might have come anyway."
