After claiming the top spot in 2021, Amelia is back as bridesmaid and not the bride, as Olivia returns to claim her title as the UK favourite name for girls, having previously reigned supreme for six years before.
Isla holds steady in third place, whilst Lily climbs up from 9th position to 4th and just like the plant with the same name, Ivy creeps into the Top 10 for the first time - into 7th place (up from 14th position in 2021)
Millie is working her magic too – up from position 27 last year, straight into the Top 10 in 2022 in 8th place. Sophia has sought her way back. Dropping to 19th position in the previous year, she’s right back in the Top 10.
However, having broken in to the Top 10 last year, Willow is dropping in the popularity stakes and so too is Evie, Rosie, and Daisy. Instead, they are making way for newcomers Sienna, Harper and Aria which could look set to debut in Top 20 in 2023.
