Info sheets for new mums from the NCT

Info sheets for new mums from the NCT
New mums vary in their recovery from giving birth and so the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) has produced information on what they can expect in the first few weeks.

'Blood loss after birth' is an information sheet which lets women know what is a natural amount of blood to lose after having a baby and for the following six weeks, letting women know if their body is recovering normally.

'Understanding your baby's sleep' helps parents cope with their newborn's sleeping patterns and how to deal with night time feeding and associated problems.

'How can I tell if my baby is thriving' is information regarding a little one's weight and growth with helpful charts to mark their progress.

"As the leading evidence-based parent information charity, the NCT has produced these three new factsheets to provide reliable information that is sensitive to parent's experiences and concerns," said Mary Newburn, head of policy research at the trust.

The NCT recently launched a website for new fathers, E Dads, which includes forums for tips on how to deal with being a parent and advice on any problems they may have.
