Jools Oliver: I'll have IVF again
01 Aug 2008Jamie Oliver and wife Jools are trying for baby number three, but is taking longer than they thought.
In an interview with Red magazine, former model Jools revealed that she is prepared to have in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment for the third time if that is what it takes to have a son, reports the Daily Mail.
The couple have a six-year-old daughter, Honey, and a five-year-old daughter, Daisy Boo, as a result of IVF, which they underwent after Jools was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries.
As a result of the cysts on her ovaries, the 32-year-old's chances of conceiving naturally are drastically reduced.
"I would love more kids but number three is taking much longer than I thought," she said. "If I have to go through the fertility drugs again, I will. Jamie would do anything to have a boy."
Jools has published a book about her and Jamie's difficulties in having a baby, Minus Nine to One: The Diary of an Honest Mum.
The Times recently reported that IVF accounts for one in 66 births and is "commonplace" nowadays.
