Keith Urban loves being a father

Country singer-songwriter Keith Urban is really enjoying his new role as a father to ten-day-old daughter Sunday Rose.

In a message to his fans via his official website, the star gushed about his baby daughter, who wife Nicole Kidman gave birth to on 7 July.

He said: "Like any of you who are parents yourselves, we're experiencing the pure bliss of welcoming her into our lives," People magazine reported.

He added that the family were all doing "superbly well" and that they were "absolutely overwhelmed" by the well wishes they had received from the public.

The proud father thanked everyone for their "beautiful notes and prayers" and said he couldn't wait for his "first gig as a father" on Saturday night in Philadelphia.

This follows news this week that the couple are not selling any pictures of their new tot to the papers, preferring to release a photograph of the two of them.
