No sex, please, says teen mum Palin

You may remember Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska, from the US election campaign last year. The glossy ‘soccer mom’ was all over the news for a while, not only because she’d set her sights on becoming vice-president, but  also when her 17-year-old daughter, Bristol,  announced she was pregnant during the campaign.

Bristol’s now graduated from high school and is bringing up her 5 month old son, Tripp, at the Palin family home after having split from Tripp’s dad.  Since becoming a mum, she’s become the face of The Candies Foundation, which promotes teenage abstinence.

“If girls realised the consequences of sex, nobody would be having sex. Trust me. Nobody,’ says Bristol. ‘Girls need to imagine and picture their life with a screaming newborn baby and then think before they have sex,” she tells People magazine. “Think about the consequences.”

Wonder if her audience will be inspired to do as she says, rather than as she did?
