Mothers can strengthen their prenatal child's ability to learn

24 Apr 2008

Mothers can strengthen their prenatal child
Pregnant women interested in strengthening their child's long-term learning capabilities have been recommended a new "auditory curriculum".

BabyPlus is a set of sound lessons that can be used by pregnant women between 18 to 32 weeks and are played to the prenatal child.

According to the tool's manufacturers, as the baby identifies the differences between its mother's heartbeat and the sounds of BabyPlus, its auditory learning will begin.

"Every prenatal infant is aware of virtually all elements in their mother's environment - conversation, music, TV etc," said the makers of the product.

"Much like a prenatal vitamin enriching their nutritional environment during pregnancy, the BabyPlus educational system will nourish your unborn child in another way."

Research has found that although genetics plays a dominant role in prenatal development, environmental factors can also affect the baby's developing brain.

Evidence suggests that a baby's brain begins to develop in the first two or three weeks of pregnancy.
