Mum-to-be Zoe: Giving up smoking feels great
Pregnant Zoe Lucker has revealed how great she feels for not smoking and staying away from alcohol.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the former Footballers' Wives star explained that she quit smoking her usual 20 cigarettes a day as soon as she found out she was expecting.

"You do go through that thing where you're like, 'Oh my word, I'm four weeks' pregnant and I've been smoking'," she said. "But all you can do is remember your responsibility arrives when you find out.

"I haven't touched a fag since and I'll have half a glass of wine now and then. I feel really well for not having all those toxins."

Earlier this year, a study by researchers at the University of York found that women who give up smoking during pregnancy are more likely to give birth to babies with easy temperaments.

Zoe, who now stars in Holby Blue, added that her morning sickness has not been too dreadful and that although she did have a rash over her body for a while, it was easily cleared up with cream from the doctor.

The main side-effect of being pregnant is forgetting things, she claimed, as she is always forgetting the smallest of things, such as everyday words.
