Sheryl Crow reveals 'baby inspiration' for new album
31 Jan 2008American singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow has spoken out about the new man in her life, nine-month old son Wyatt, new reports reveal.
The 45-year-old nine-time Grammy award-winner has claimed that her new album Detours was inspired by the adoption of her first child.
"This whole record is completely inspired by Wyatt's presence. As any new parent will attest, it's such a gift having this little spirit looking to you for protection and the answers to the unknowns. Having him is the greatest reward I have ever experienced," she told Woman's Day magazine.
Sheryl adopted baby Wyatt in May 2007 aged just two-weeks old following the star's ongoing treatment for breast cancer.
Commenting on her decision to become a single mum, she said: "I started the process of arranging to adopt after I completed my breast cancer radiation. I felt I'd gone through a lot and I was ready to do this, to become a mom. I'd always aspired to do this, and decided I'd put it off no more, even if it meant going it alone."
