Sophie Ellis-Bextor confirms second pregnancy

British pop singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced that she is expecting her second baby with husband Richard Jones.

The 29-year-old star revealed the pregnancy on her official website yesterday, saying: "I'll … be having a break around March/April as I am very happy to share with you all the news that I am having another baby.

"I am due at the beginning of April and naturally the Ellis-Bextor-Jonses are thrilled that Sonny will soon have a little brother or sister."

Sophie and The Feeling guitarist Richard welcomed their first child Sonny in April 2004. The celebrity couple then got married in June 2005.

Currently featuring in cosmetic brand Rimmel's latest advertising campaign, the happy mum-to-be is also set to release her new single in the New Year.

"Looks like 2009 is going to be an exciting year (and busy!) for me. I can't wait," she added.

Former Blue Peter presenter Janet Ellis is Sophie's famous mum.
