Tips for new parents

Tips for new parents
Putting a sticker on a baby's hand while trying to change their nappy will keep them so busy as they try to get it off that they will stay still, it has been claimed.

This is just one of the tips revealed in new book Sneaky Parenting by Jo Wiltshire which aims to help parents keep their sanity with new babies, reports the Daily Mirror.

She also advised parents struggling with a buggy or pram to look out for signs for disabled travellers in train stations as they will lead to lifts and ramps.

Buying a chest of drawers instead of a changing table is a more cost-effective purchase, she added.

Ms Wiltshire said: "If you and a friend are due to have a baby within a few months of each other, split the cost of items that will only be used for a few months, like prams and Moses baskets."

A National Childbirth Trust survey found that 42% of non-parents think they would get between one and seven hours of free time if they had a newborn baby.

However, 9% of parents claimed to have no free time and 28 per cent said they have less than two hours.
