The Streets singer to welcome first baby

British musician Mike Skinner and long-term girlfriend Claire Le Marquand have revealed that they are expecting their first child together.

According to new reports, the 30-year-old Streets singer and rapper is set to become a dad in April next year.

A source close to the happy couple commented: "Mike is delighted. He can't wait to be a dad. He says this is the best Christmas gift ever. He is doting on Claire and making sure she puts her feet up at home."

News of the pregnancy explains Skinner's recent admission that he intends to take a break from the music industry after The Streets' fifth studio album.

"The next album will be the last one I'll make," he said after the band's fourth album, Everything Is Borrowed, was released in September.

Mum-to-be Claire works for The Streets' music label Warner Bros and played a role in the production of Everything Is Borrowed.
