September 2008
Minnie Driver is expecting quite a crowd when she gives birth to her first baby in the next few weeks, telling the New York Post ‘My mum and aunt Serena will be with me, as will my best friends, a midwife and a yoga teacher. And I’ll be the wailing monster at the centre.’
Gillian Anderson is due to give birth to her third child any time now, but hasn’t let being heavily pregnant stop her getting out and about. The alien-busting actress took to the red carpet in July complete with baby bump for the UK premiere of ‘The X-Files: I want to believe.’
Britain’s highest paid newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky will be taking a break from our screens in September as she prepares for the arrival of her first baby later in the month.
October 2008
Billie Piper is gearing up for a home birth, as she nears the due date for her first baby in October. The actress has continued to work on filming for The Secret Diary of a Call Girl, although body doubles were brought in as her pregnancy progressed.
Former Corrie star Tina O’Brien is due to give birth in October. The actress played teenage mum Sarah-Louise Platt in the soap.
Lisa Marie Presley is pregnant with twins, which are due this autumn.
November 2008
Charlotte Church and partner Gavin Henson are expecting their second child in November. The singer admitted it was a bit of a shock to discover she was pregnant again after giving birth to daughter Ruby just last September, but has said she wants at least ‘four or six’ children.
Jo Whiley is expecting her fourth child in November with husband Steve. The Radio 1 presenter announced her pregnancy live on-air in May, apologising to friends she hadn’t managed to tell first.
Louise Redknapp and husband Jamie are expecting a boy in November who will join the couple’s first son Charley, born in 2004.
Also due in November: Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are expecting their second child.
December 2008
Take That star Mark Owen is to become a dad for the second time with partner Emma Ferguson, who is due to give birth in December. The couple already have a 21 month old son Elwood Jack.
2009
Chris Evans and his wife Natasha Shismanian announced in July they are expecting their first baby together. The Radio 2 DJ - who has a 21 year old daughter from a previous relationship – broke the news on his blog, posting a scan of ‘Baby DJ.’
Coronation street actress Alison King revealed in August she was pregnant with her first baby, with boyfriend Adam Huckett, who is a sound technician on the soap.
Melanie C has confirmed she is pregnant with her first child with long-term partner Thomas Starr. The spice-girl formerly known as Sporty recently said she was not planning to have children in the near future, but soon afterwards announced the news on her web site, saying “As I’m sure you’ll understand we needed time to wait for results and tell our families.”
