The name Kai could be set to catapult up the Bounty baby name ranks with the arrival of baby Kai Wayne Rooney, born 2 November weighing in at 7lbs 12oz.
Kai, which is popular in Scandinavian and Welsh, means ‘rejoice,’ with other variations meaning ‘keeper of the keys,’ ‘brave with spear’ and ‘the sea.’ Kai featured 70th in the 2008 Bounty name poll – but could be set to climb the ranks if parents are inspired to follow the celebrity lead.
