I have two issues at the moment! The first is I use my breast pump before going to bed and am feeding my 4 month old son during the night and early hours but every morning i am waking up with sodden bra.I have tried putting extra breast pads on and a muslin cloth in my bra but i am still flooding though!HELP!! My second issue is my 4 month old wants breast feeding only and wont take the milk i have expressed by bottle/spoon or cup.I would really like to have a little break to go out but as his feeds are on demand I am stuck and can't attend dinners and social events that aren't suitable for babies.Any advice would be useful
I have now stopped breastfeeding after reducing feeds to just night time. How do I get rid of the excess milk? If I keep expressing I just keep producing more milk.
At the moment i have made the decision not to breastfeed because that is my own personal choice,i am 5 months pregnant but feel under alot of pressure from midwife and family to breastfeed.what shall i do? x
I breastfed my first son for 6 months, my daughter for 17 months, and am still feeding my 13 month old son and i will finish when we are ready. I think education is the key i was told after each birth how quickly i got back in shape i know it was mainly down to feeding. The main piece of advise is perserverence and belief you are doing the right thing, especialy when some people may try and put you off. its free and this is the bit that is important its best for your baby, it does not hurt when you get it right (ask for help) give it your best x
I breastfed my first for 3 months and my 2nd son for 10months, i found the first 6 weeks with both really tough, i battled through mastitus, and thrush in one of my nipples, but the best advice is keep going, don't stop until you and your baby are ready to stop... It's the most satisfying, natural and rewarding thing you can do for your child. it's the most NATURAL thing in the world. I was a breastmilk donor for my hospital - my health visitor helped me become a donor, just ask your HV how if you are interested - they provided me with sterile pots and they even picked up from my home - I felt very happy that i was helping, as my 2nd son was 5 weeks premature x
I am breastfeeding for the second time and I have to say that breastfeeding has been different with both my boys. I breastfed my first son for 7 months and I am planning on the same for my second. It has been wonderfull and makes you feel a real sense of achievement and pride. It is true that it's not easy at first and after my second son I can really understand why ladies give up in the first couple of weeks, it was only the fact that I knew I had done it before and also getting support from my local latch on group that got me through. Weight loss is great too, back to pre pregnancy weight within a month, It is completely free, appart from the boxes of breast pads I have to go through, sooo much more convenient and great for my baby, how can you loose? clairexx
After a concealed pregnancy of 8 mths. you can imagine the shock 6hrs after being told you mayby pregnant giving birth after 45 mins labour on a medical ward to a 1lbs 8oz baby girl who is sooo totally perfect, shes is fully formed as any baby at 8mth gestation would be and has needed no help breathing or anything, just has a feeding tube. She is taking part in the Natiional Donor Breastmilk Scheme. Its such a great scheme not many ppl are aware it even excists. ts given my daughter the best start and im so very greatful!!
I'm sure everyone finds it tough at first, I know I did... I had never even contemplated using bottles as I was brought up around all my aunts breastfeeding, it just felt like the natural and normal thing for me to do. I had the support of my mum who was once a breastfeeding councilor and strongly recommend if anyone finds the first few days / weeks hard to get some advice and support, don't just let someone man-handle your boob into your baby's mouth, it doesn't help!! Keep at it, it's so fab - I lost 2st in 2 weeks from just feeding! It's free and SO very good for your little one. Kate x
Why is the video showing how to breastfeed not shown on primetime television?
Hi i have been breastfeeding from birth, the first few weeks i did not think it would happen, but i kept on. It felt great then and still does now, my son is 13 months now and i am going to try and get him off, I will be sad but it will be for the best. Just never give up even when you want to cry through fustration and dont worry what anyone else says.my son finn has turned into a loving boy x
