What's happening this month...

Your baby

Your baby is now enjoying their first solid foods and might even start trying to grab food as you eat! Their hand-to-eye co-ordination is getting better and they can probably bang things together now. At 7 months babies can also recognise emotions and distinguish between happy, surprised or sad faces.

Babies at this age can start to show signs of separation anxiety and get upset when you leave the room. It can be tiring, but it won’t be like this forever, and they will soon start to realise that you always come back!

can any body tell me how do i try and cope about missing my daughter i suffered post-natal depression shortly after birth and only getting over it now and i`m so keen to do everything to get her back, its just an everyday battle with my family that twisting my every effort in to something extreme, i feel they dont want me to be her mum, help plz x

jammytart5183: Perhaps you should try Cow & Gate Infant Milk for Hungrier Babies, it is a breastmilk substitute with a special balance of milk protein to help your hungry baby feel more satisfied. Also ensure that his three meals a day is not just fruit based foods but has veg or meat, which makes it more filling for him. You may also want to consult your health visitor. mummyashanne: yes you can offer your little one petits filous, although petits filous say they are ok from weaning onwards, I would not offer before 6 months, and always at room tempreture. g11; do you offer him the same food or different food? Also perhaps use some type of distraction, like a cartoon for a short while or play games with him and his food before you start the feeding. Also if there is a short space between his lunch and evening meal he may just not be hungry. Try it at 6pm.

He Never Stops Eatting!!!!

Could any one help me? My little boy is 7 months old and already weaned. He has 3 meals a day, various finger food snacks and about 5 -6 7 fl oz formula bottles a day. Healthy appetite! Anyway, i phoned Cow and Gate about a quorn inquiry and they said that he was having too much iron by having 5 - 6 bottles a day, so i cut back to giving him 3 bottles of stage 3 formula a day, as recommended, but he still wants more. They said to give him stage 1 milk as a substitute but, as i'm sure everyone knows, it gets VERY expensive! I've tried offering him water and weak juices but he spits it out. Does anyone know if it's ok to offer him cows milk? Or soya milk? Or any other alternatives!?! I'm getting very desperate as i can't afford to feed myself some days! I recently became a single mum and i just can't make the money stretch as i'm not due back at work until December! Please help!! xx

baby food from 7 months

my little boy is 7 months now and still loving his baby food but can i give him yoghurts like the little petit filous?? i wasnt sure if its too much for his wee tummy??
