After nine months of deliberation you’ve finally got your heart set on a name you love and that you think will help your child stand out from the classroom crowds. Then, along comes a celebrity and ruins it all, by getting there first and making you look like a copycat!
Back to the drawing board
So while we’re thrilled for Dannii Minogue and new baby Ethan, it’s back the drawing board for Bounty mum kells44 who laments “Ethan is the only name oh and I have agreed on and liked since being pregnant and now I’m going to look like I’m copying her! Thinking we are going to have to rethink now!”
And lindsayee sympathises “I wanted Lilly for a girl until Stacy from Eastenders named her baby. My partner thinks I’m mad, but I don’t want people thinking I’m copying her!”
Does it really matter? Mamawarrior thinks not – “I don’t think it really matters that she may have used a name you like. If you were to change your mind on a name every time you heard another child was named the same you’d never have a name – I say if you love it, use it!”
