Breastfeeding on the menu at Starbucks
Starbucks join NCT in welcoming breastfeeding mums
Great day for breastfeeding
- Coffee chain welcomes breastfeeding mums
Too many breastfeeding mums will be familiar with feeling uncomfortable when needing to breastfeed their baby in a local café. This is about to become a thing of the past, a new partnership hopes.
The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) has awarded Starbucks ‘parent friendly’ status. The coffee shop chain is the first high street retailer to gain the honour and up to 800 of its branches nationally will soon have the ‘Parent Friendly Places’ badge proudly hanging in their windows.
Staff at the included branches will undergo training to understand how best to accommodate parents of young babies and toddlers. So all parents will be welcome to either breastfeed, bottle feed, or feed their child in a highchair at any of the included branches.
Feeding ‘without judgement’ is the order of the day at the Starbucks and the NCT is hoping this partnership with encourage more retailers to join the family friendly trend.
