Breast milk saves mums' life

Digs a hole - drinks milk

Breast milk is known for giving babies all the nutrients they need.

But now it seems this liquid has also helped to save one mum’s life.

New mum Susan O’Brien was running a half marathon in New Zealand but failed to cross the finish line.

A search for the personal trainer began but she wasn’t found until 24 hours later when a helicopter and heat detection equipment picked her up.

'I definitely thought I was going to die,' Susan O’Brien told the NZ Herald.

However, she said when she couldn’t find her way back she decided to dig a hole in the forest and cover herself with dirt in an attempt to stay warm.

She then drank her breast milk to keep herself hydrated and nourished!

What an incredible story!
