Pregnancy announcement

You’re having a baby! You want to shout it from the rooftops! Well why not announce it in a very special way…

Why follow the norm and simply tell your other half  ‘I have some news’, it’s so 20th Century, and besides, the minute the words leave your lips, he’s probably guessed what you’re about to say.

Here are a few suggestions to announce the news in a way your partner and family will remember for a lifetime.

1. Put a bun in the oven

Playing on that old pregnancy slang, she’s got a bun in the oven, it might be fun to place a bun in the oven at home and wait for the penny to drop.

2. Design your own greeting card

To tell family and friends the great news, why not stage an image of your other’s half’s shoes, yours, your children’s shoes and end it with a tiny pair of baby shoes and have it put on a card. The caption could read: ‘Our family is growing by 2 feet.’

3. Surprise gift

Hand your other half a pink and blue balloon with a sign that says ‘Coming (and your due date). See how long it takes him to figure it out!

4. Say it in a photo

If you want to make the family laugh, why not use social media to spread the word with your other half showing his belly with ‘beer’ written on it and your belly saying ‘baby’.

5. Let your toddler tell all

Dress your toddler in a top that says ‘I’m a big brother/sister and wait for people to ask the inevitable.

6. Reserved seating

Why not take a pic of your toddler in a double buggy with a sign on the other seat saying: ‘reserved for (and your due date)’…too cute!

7. Go simple

You could keep it simple and leave your positive test somewhere your other half with randomly stumble across it.
