Mums 'should sneak superfoods into smoothies'

Some of the best foods for growing children are superfoods, which have been identified as being high in antioxidants, vitamins and protein, and low in fat. However, most parents struggle when it comes to getting kids to eat food they know is healthy, so it might be necessary to trick them into liking it. At least that is what Texas publication The Vindicator has asserted, saying: "Plenty of experts agree that the solution is simple - sneak nutritious foods into dishes where they'll be least expected." It claimed that a good example of this is a smoothie - which is perfect in summertime - and suggested trying one with an assortment of blueberries, fresh ginger, egg whites, honey, cinnamon and almonds, for a snack that is rich in nutrition. Meanwhile, Michelin-starred chef Luke Tipping recently claimed that fresh and nutritious meals can be made for young children for as little as 80p a dish, the Telegraph reported.
