IVF

IVF

In IVF (in vitro fertilisation) your eggs are fertilised with your partner’s sperm in a laboratory then placed back in your womb. Doctors may recommend it if you have been trying without success for at least three years or your fallopian tubes are blocked. This section looks at how IVF works and whether or not you’ll be eligible for treatment on the NHS. It also gives you an idea of your chances of success, plus important information about the risks involved. As with any fertility treatment, IVF can be a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, so you’ll also find other useful sources of support. You can also share your ups and downs with other couples going through fertility treatment in our Bounty community.
