As the Queen prepares to be showered with gifts for her Diamond Jubilee later this year, rumours are buzzing that a Wills and Kate baby might be the best present of all.
Ever since the couple wed in April 2011, royal fans have been itching for the announcement of a new arrival.
The news would make 2012 a doubly special year for the Queen - or perhaps we should say triply, as she already has a great-grandchild due in her Diamond Jubilee year, with Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn expecting their second child in March.
The Queen has become accustomed to such good fortune - she was blessed with the arrival of Peter Phillips, the Princess Royal's son and the Queen's first grandchild, as she celebrated her Silver Jubilee in November 1977.
