Families will be more likely to take their holidays during spring due to cheaper deals being available and the Olympics being hosted in London this year, according to research.
A third of the 2,000 people surveyed by ING Direct said they planned to take their holiday during spring, compared with one in five in the previous three years.
Richard Dow, chief executive of ING Direct, said: "It's understandable that families are choosing not to go on holiday during the summer months."
Mr Dow said this was due to holidays costing less during the spring months and would enable families to save money.
"This is compounded by the fact we're set for an outstanding summer of sport, with one of the greatest sporting events in the world taking place on our doorstep."
