The internet could be a good way for people to meet a partner if they are of a certain age group or lead busy lives, it has been noted.
According to Mo Kurimbokus, who is a counsellor for Relate, the relationship counselling and sex therapy group, people may find it more difficult to meet someone if they are not in the age group of college and university attendees.
While the workplace could be somewhere else to find a partner, the internet may also be a "good way forward", he said.
"The initial stigma that it first had, that people were concerned about how desperate they were in having to resort to the internet, now it is becoming just another way of being able to do something," he went on to say.
Internet dating could also prove to be a good way for busy single mums and dads to meet the right person.
