New mums keen to shift the pregnancy pounds could find that they can easily fit small amounts of activity into every day.
According to Elin Tough, features editor at Zest magazine, people are looking at exercise in the wrong way. Instead of focusing on having to go to the gym to "slog it out", they could find that there are easy ways to get the recommended half an hour of activity a day.
"People are mistakenly categorising exercise as having to get into their gym kit and jog around the park," Ms Tough said.
Getting exercise into a normal day, with no disruption to regular routines, could include taking the stairs at work instead of the lift or getting off the bus a stop earlier than usual.
When trying to lose baby weight, slow and steady is the best way to get rid of extra pounds and keep them off long term.
