Aims to reduce the large number of children injured on Scotland’s roads every year. The club has been developed to help parents teach their young children how to stay safe when they are out walking, playing or travelling.
Membership is free to all three-year-olds resident in Scotland and around 35,000 new members join each year.
Scottish Health Boards invite all children to join around the time of their third birthday. On registration, children receive six books at three-monthly intervals. Each book contains pictures, stories and activities to help children have fun while learning to stay safe. Colourful balloon characters help children remember the main safety messages.
Packs also contain notes for parents, stickers, checklists and activity ideas.
