TV doctor Hilary Jones has helped deliver a baby during a six-day mercy mission to Haiti with fellow GMTV star Ben Shephard.
Dr Hilary, who made the trip with Plan International and Charity Challenge six months after the earthquake to see how people were coping, helped expectant mother Benette Santerre deliver her baby boy during a visit to a maternity ward.
Cradling the newborn, wrapped in a pink blanket, in his arms, Dr Hilary said: "This is a fantastic, happy moment here in Haiti when there's been so much devastation, destruction, tragedy and bad news.
"To see new life and happiness brought into the world so spontaneously is overwhelming."
Over 230,000 people were killed in the earthquake, while hundreds of thousands were injured. It also destroyed several hospitals and schools in Haiti.
Shephard, who met many children during the trip, said: "The hardest thing about all of this is being a dad.
"Having two little boys and trying to imagine them having to go through what these kids have been through.
"It really is terrifying. They are incredibly brave and it really does put everything into perspective, and they just keep on smiling - they are so resilient."
