Bounty came into being in 1959, founded by Bill Hopewell-Smith, who had the foresight to see that mums' needs vary at different lifestages.
Family life in 1959 was a world away from how we live today. Mother’s role was to stay at home, keep the house and raise the children while father went out to work. But while poor old mum had plenty to live up to with advice from the Good Housekeeping Guide, she had nowhere really to turn to find out how on earth to look after a baby!
At a glance
- Bounty started over 60 years ago
- Bounty provides mums with a source of pregnancy and parenting information
Suddenly, with Bounty, mums had a source of pregnancy and parenting information, along with the chance to find out about and sample products related to this new life-stage.
Mums' roles have changed immeasurably since 1959, as have family relationships and dynamics, but being a parent will always feel like taking a step into the unknown, so Bounty will always be a welcome member of the family.
