Gender Neutral Baby Names

If you’re not sure whether you’re having a boy or girl, but have your heart already set on one name in particular, it could just be that you’ll get away with giving the name to your baby no matter the sex.

Over the last few years there has been a rise in baby names now recognised as unisex but previously categorised as male or female. Parents are choosing to deviate from the norm much more than ever before when it comes to baby names and an alternative gender spin on a classic name is one way to do this.

Celebrities are also influencing the trend, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher named their daughter Wyatt in 2014, a name with masculine history meaning ‘little warrier’. Then of course Harper Beckham gave a new lease of life to the name amongst girls, which before had often been associated as a boy’s name.

A gender neutral name is modern and can solve the problem of a girl’s name sounding too feminine if this is something you’re not keen on. It’s also not something that is likely to go out of fashion any time soon… unisex names such as ‘Charlie’ and ‘Jordan’ have been popular for many years now.
