We’ve studied and scoured through the thousands of baby boys’ names chosen by Bounty app users and members this year to determine exactly which ones will be popular and heading towards ‘on trend’ status in the next year. Having assessed over 300,000 names for the stand-out highest climbers over the last 12 months we can predict which exactly which baby boy name trends are set to take off.

Bounty is the most reliable, up-to-date place to look for clues. This is because, outside of official birth registration lists (which are published 18 months behind) ours is the largest, most up to date baby names list in the UK – making it guaranteed to bring you the latest trends that might indicate  the names that future baby boys will be given in the year ahead.

Starting with the Bounty Top 100 boys' baby names list, the trend for naming baby boys Rowan and Brody made the most major strides this year as they both bounded into the Top 100 chart at positions 64 and 95 (both up 27 places). Rowan could be inspired by The Hills star Kaitlynn Carter’s new arrival in 2021 who she named Rowan Carter Brock.

Once popular names that have fallen from favour in recent years maybe starting to trend again including Ralph and Alex rise 20 and 15 places.

Surnames that can be used as first names such as Ellis and Hudson are also trending. The popularity of singer George Ezra is also influencing a steady growth as more boys than ever are called Ezra, which has risen another 13 places this year.

Here’s our full list of predictions for this year’s trend names for boys inside the Bounty Top 100 boys names, ranked in order of highest climber (and their current position in the Top 100 alongside).
