The names losing popularity for boys as we enter 2017

boys names down

In the last year there’s been a notable decline in the popularity of boys’ names such as Liam, Callum and Lewis.

With politics a key topic in 2016 due to the London mayoral election and the EU referendum, we saw the name Boris rise in popularity (up 55%), but Cameron faced a 33% decline as the UK’s Prime Minister stepped down.

Parents also seem tired of picking these names which mark the most significant declines in popularity for boys’ name trends in 2016:

1. Liam
2. Callum
3. Lewis
4. Bobby
5. Ryan
6. Michael
7. Tyler
8. Frankie
9. Jenson
10. Connor
